Shannon, I just wanted to let you know that your speech at Tarrant County College was a blessing! You said everything that God helped me heal from. It has been a struggle, but I have been able with God’s help to see myself for the beautiful person He created me to be. I am beautiful!!!! I no longer suffer from an eating disorder that pledged my mind….thank God! I try so hard to not to hurt my body anymore. Like you said,”we were made to feed the machine(our bodies)and to treat it with respect. I really appreciate the time you took to talk with me during lunch. I will never forget what you taught me. My heart was touched when you sang your song. You have a gorgeous, angelic voice. Keep singing….! I hope that God blesses your ministry and that more girls will see that they need to live, be themselves and no longer be fake(hiding behind a mask). I love your new song “The Mask”. You are making a difference in the lives of people who have for years been brainwashed by a lie(hollywood/media)…of how to be popular, gorgeous etc. Everyone is unique and special in their own way and we need to be ourselves. I only wish that more people could feel the comfort of God and peace that comes from Him so they don’t have to suffer any more. I will be praying that God’s will will be done in each heart that He draws to Himself. Jesus is the anwser….the gospel gives hope and the restoring comes from reading the Bible. I looked for strength in people and they hurt and disappointed me, but when i sought God I was humbled, loved, and cared for….I can praise the Lord forever because He has healed me from guilt, shame, and the anger I had toward myself. Shannon you are beautiful, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
    God Bless you!
    Love,
    Emily
